They\u2019d started shoving each other, gradually escalating until punches were thrown, and finally the Minister of Industry and Information Technology had to step in. The message was couched in nicer language, but it was basically \u201cI\u2019m watching you two. Don\u2019t make me come over there!\u201d To give you a feel for the players, Qihoo 360 is China\u2019s largest anti-virus vendor, with more than 300 million users. Tencent, on the other hand, is the world\u2019s third largest internet company by market cap, and has over 600 million users of its QQ instant message software. <\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I came out from behind the Great Firewall of China, and what\u2019s one of the first things I see? Seems <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readwriteweb.com\/archives\/google_warns_facebook_users_of_trap_before_data_ex.php?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+readwriteweb+(ReadWriteWeb)\" target=\"_blank\">Google and Facebook are trading slaps as well<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Chinese press are reporting in the last day or so that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinadaily.com.cn\/bizchina\/2010-11\/11\/content_11535036.htm\" target=\"_blank\">the government intervention seems to be having the desired affect<\/a>.
