Quite interested in this. Somehow doubt I’ll keep to the timeline, nor learn them in any serious depth, but as a tasting platter of a bunch of languages from different families I am considering it. Not sure of the whole beta book thing though. Guess it depends on just how “beta” the content is that they release.

imho this is nonsense. Why would one wanted to do that? Programming languages are - unlike real languages - not to communicate, they are to solve problems. If there is a problem I cannot solve with any of the languages I know, then I might look in an other one …
Wow, I’m surprised at your answer Olaf. Why would one want to do that? Well, to learn, for one. It’s a worthy goal in itself I think. Secondly, I’ve often found that learning something about a different programming approach can make you a better developer in your main language.
I’m under no illusions that this book would make me productive in these languages. But as a sampler to get a high-level understanding I think it could be interesting.
